Medical Career and Technical College specializes in programs for Allied Health Careers.  Our diploma based programs prepare a student to become immediately employable and credentialed upon graduation, without having to take classes to meet general education requirements (English, Math, Humanities, etc.) required at traditional universities. With small class sizes, the methods of instruction are more individualized with emphasis on group interaction, laboratory skills, and externship experiences!  Our mission  is to produce diligent, competent, confident graduates, credentialed in their field, and ready for employment!

We offer a caring family atmosphere allowing students to feel at home and welcomed from the moment you walk in! Our high quality training environment, lower tuition costs, and faculty that are credentialed and passionate about teaching provides a preparation for the "real-world" that will help you jump start your career successfully!

The programs utilize a stair-step approach, taking only one class each term, and attending just two days a week. This approach provides a quality learning experience with the benefit of truly learning the material before proceeding to the next course.

Each program concludes with an externship where the student is placed in an actual employment setting practicing those skills learned in their program. This has been a great place for our students to land their first job!

Medical Career & Technical College is INSTITUTIONALLY accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). The Medical Assistant Program has met program specific standards with the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools.

Welcome to MCTC! I'm here to help you find ways to pay for school without having a large debt to repay following your graduation! I am the one that processes your financial aid, works with other agencies such as the VA, WIOA, and Vocational Rehabilitation for scholarships and set up payment plans for our interest free school loans.  I hold an Associate in Applied Science Degree, majoring in Office Administration, from the University of Kentucky and also have my CMA(AAMA) certification. I am responsible for awarding of financial aid through the Department of Education and am here to assist you in the process of exploring all avenues to help you pay for school by working with each student individually to determine the best choices!

Hi! My name is Amy and I teach all of the Veterinary Assistant classes. I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and have over eight years’ experience caring for animals. I have also worked behind the science in field research.  I continue to also be employed as a Vet Tech at a local veterinary's practice to keep my skills current. You will probably see my dog, Miley, with me at school as she frequently "volunteers" to be our patient for the vet classes.

Hi I'm Mary Esarey, Dental Assistant Instructor. I've taught Dental Assisting for many years and look forward to having you in my class!  I believe the best way for most students to learn is a "hands on" approach and we spend a great deal of time in our awesome operatory lab doing just that!

Hi! I have an Associate Degree in Science and my CMA (AAMA) credential. I have numerous years of experience in the medical assisting field both in the clinical and administrative areas helping to bring in that "real life experience" to the classroom.  I make every effort to have an upbeat positive day each and every day as I teach the administrative classes for our Medical Assisting and Medical Administration students.
