Medical Career and Technical College
Jump Start Your Career
Medical Career and Technical College specializes in programs for Allied Health Careers. Our diploma based programs prepare a student to become immediately employable and credentialed upon graduation, without having to take classes to meet general education requirements (English, Math, Humanities, etc.) required at traditional colleges. Because of our small class size, the methods of instruction are more individualized with emphasis on group interaction, laboratory skills, and externship experiences! Our mission is to produce diligent, competent, confident graduates, credentialed in their field, and ready for employment.
The College was founded in 2011 by knowledgeable, experienced healthcare professionals and educators, Kristi Bertrand, CMA(AAMA), MPH & Patricia Mullins, RN, APRN, with the desire to create an educational institution with a caring family atmosphere allowing students to feel at home and welcomed, while also providing the highest quality training environment with lower tuition cost and faculty who are licensed/credentialed and passionate about teaching bringing " real world" experience into the classroom.
The Co-Founders and owners, Mullins & Bertrand, have found that providing education utilizing a stair-step approach, taking only one class each term, and attending just two days a week, has not only provided a quality learning experience, but has allowed families the benefit of being able to attend or return to college. We welcome your comparison of Medical Career and Technical College to to all other institutions offering our programs.

I am the one that processes your financial aid, works with other agencies such as the VA, WIOA, and Vocational Rehabilitation for scholarships and set up payment plans for our interest free school loans. I hold an Associate in Applied Science Degree, majoring in Office Administration, from the University of Kentucky and also have my CMA(AAMA) certification. Welcome! My name is Amy and I teach the first class for all students which is Medical Terminology! I also teach all of the Veterinary Assistant classes. I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and have over seven years’ experience caring for animals. I have also worked behind the science in field research. I continue to also be employed as a Vet Tech at a local veterinary's practice to keep my skills current. You will probably see my dog, Miley, with me at school as she "volunteers" to be our patient for the vet classes.
