Whether you want to work in nursing, animal care, dental, or healthcare administration, our Richmond campus has a program for you. Students take one course at a time and attend class two days per week, keeping training manageable alongside work and family. We also offer a Fast Track option for Medical Assistant and Medical Massage Therapy students who want to complete their programs sooner.
Medical assistants can work on both the clinical and administrative sides of a medical office, from patient intake and vital signs to assisting with procedures and supporting day-to-day office operations. Our medical assistant programs are accredited by ABHES and recognized by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), with graduates eligible to sit for the CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) exam.
Our practical nursing programs prepare students for front-line patient care through lab skills and clinical rotations covering medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, and patient assessment. Graduates who meet Kentucky Board of Nursing requirements are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
Our veterinary assistant program covers the core clinical responsibilities of a veterinary practice: lab work, medication administration, surgical prep, and patient monitoring. Our program also includes large-animal education, which opens up job opportunities beyond small-animal clinics in Madison County and the surrounding area.
Dental assistants work chair-side with dentists through a wide range of procedures, handling everything from taking impressions and X-rays to patient education, sterilizing instruments, setting up exam rooms, keeping accurate records, and providing comfort and reassurance to patients. Graduates are eligible to take the national Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) exam through the American Medical Technologists. Our dental assistant program also offers Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) training, where students can learn advanced skills like filling placement.
Our massage therapy program is approved by the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy. Graduates are eligible to take the MBLEx and become a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), with career paths spanning hospitals, sports medicine, chiropractic offices, and private practice.
Our medical administration program trains students for the operational side of healthcare, with a focus on medical billing, coding, and health information management. This program is for Richmond residents wanting to provide administrative support in private practices, clinics, hospitals, and other medical facilities.
